Lisa is supported by a team of researchers who have approximately 20 years of experience in the retainer-based executive search business.

In 2018, LISA D. RYAN, LLC launched to provide human resource consulting services to family enterprises and wealth management firms. Lisa has 20 years’ experience assisting sophisticated clients and senior executives attain goals and enhance organizations through executive recruiting/talent acquisition, talent management, career transition coaching, executive coaching, leadership development and human resource advisory services.
She is recognized nationally as an expert in providing human capital solutions to family enterprises/wealth management firms and for her ability to understand their business strategies and their unique cultures. She genuinely cares about people and building long-term relationships with individuals and organizations. Lisa’s track record of success, along with her commitment to integrity, honesty and confidentiality, has resulted in satisfied clients, long-term relationships and client referrals. Her high emotional intelligence, along with her pragmatism from 30 years of business experience, help her to engage with clients in an impactful way.
With 20 years of executive retained search experience, Lisa has served as a Managing Director at two boutique retained-search firms, as well as Family Office Exchange (FOX), where she managed their recruiting and human resource consulting area. She is seasoned at placing executives in leadership roles in family enterprises and wealth advisory firms, nationwide.
Additionally, Lisa has executed consulting assignments related to assessing client/families’ needs, 360-degree feedback assessments and compensation benchmarking for family office executives. Lisa is a certified administrator of the following behavioral evaluations: DISC/PIAV, the Hogan Assessment and the Leadership Versatility Index. Using behavioral assessments, she is effective in team-building and improving communications; executive coaching and leadership development; and third-party 360 review assessments.
She was introduced to the executive search business through her prior career providing M&A advisory services to a family-owned commercial real estate company. She helped the company expand nationally through acquisitions and recruiting efforts. Previously, Lisa worked in real estate finance for 10 years.
Lisa is an adjunct career coach with Kensington International and an Executive in Residence at Dominican University’s Brennan School of Business in River Forest, Illinois. She also is an active community leader – serving as chair of the River Forest Planning Commission, trustee of the River Forest Development Review Board and board member of Thrive Counseling Center in nearby Oak Park.
Lisa received her Masters of City Planning degree from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Hollins University, Hollins, Va.

While recruiting executives for these organizations over a 20-year period, Lisa realized that many of the family enterprises or boutique wealth advisors did not have a dedicated human resource professional, and at times, they had human resource needs outside of executive recruiting. With a deep understanding of these organizations, Lisa formed LISA D. RYAN, LLC to recruit exceptional executives and to develop and optimize existing talent to enhance organizational performance and attain goals.
